Niki is a poet and performer based in Brighton, UK



She rediscovered her love of poetry while undergoing treatment for breast cancer in 2019.


Along with writing and performing her work, she runs workshops to promote poetry as a powerful source of solace and support for health and wellbeing.

Poetry and Workshops



Niki's poems have been long-listed in the 2022 Palette Poetry Sappho Prize and won second prize in both the BHAC Poetry Competition 2019 and the Second Light 2021 Poetry Competition.


In 2020 she was awarded Arts Council National Lottery funding to develop her creative practice and secured a poetry residency at Macmillan Horizon Centre, delivering 16 poetry workshops for people affected by cancer in Spring 2021.


She was selected by Creative Future as one of ten artists to be mentored by the Flourish programme of arts and health training in Spring 2022 and has since run a workshop on creativity and the menopause for University of Brighton's Centre for Arts and Wellbeing in March 2022 and on breast cancer and creative writing as part of filmmaker Joanna Callaghan's 'Goodbye Breasts!' project in 2023.


Niki has performed her work at BHAC Poetry Festival, 2019 and online for Flight of the Dragonfly, Second Light and the Cheltenham Poetry Festival 2021. She was thrilled to appear on Ep.10, series 4 of popular poetry podcast, Eat the Storms in February 2022 and has returned a number of times since.


Her poems have featured in Coasters by Atlantic Press,  e-journal Flights, Lighthouse Issue 23 and Artemis Issue 27, The Storms Issue 3 and her Stickleback micro pamphlet was published by Hedgehog Poetry Press in 2022 and can be purchased for a bargainous £3.00 inc P&P here. Her work has been nominated for Best of the Net, Forward, and Pushcart Prizes.


Her first full pamphlet 'Body Talk' was published by Flight of the Dragonfly Press in Autumn 2022 and can be purchased here.
